Cottonseed Oil Dose Response Study

Researchers are studying how different amounts of cottonseed oil (CSO) affect cholesterol and other health markers in people at risk for heart disease. CSO is a type of oil found in many foods that might help lower bad cholesterol and improve overall health. The study will test if lower doses of CSO can be just as helpful as higher ones.

Participants will drink special shakes and eat snacks containing CSO for 28 days. They will go to the research center six times: once for a screening, three short visits for check-ups, and two longer visits for detailed tests. These visits include blood tests and body measurements to see how the CSO affects them.

  • Duration: 28 days with 6 visits.
  • Requirements: Daily shakes/snacks, weekly visits for check-ups, tests.
  • Eligibility: Ages 25-75, at risk for heart disease (high cholesterol or overweight).

This study could help discover new ways to improve heart health with smaller amounts of cottonseed oil. If you qualify, participating might lead to better understanding of how diet affects your health.
