Phase N/A

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is a disease that causes vision loss in older adults, especially veterans. This study tests if doing exercise, like riding a stationary bike, can help people with AMD. Past research on animals and older veterans suggests that exercise might improve vision. The study will last for 6 months and will be done online, where participants will cycle together in a group. During the study, researchers will check if exercise helps with vision, physical abilities, and thinking skills in veterans with AMD.

Key Points:

  • The study lasts for 6 months with online group cycling sessions.
  • Participants must be veterans aged 65-89 with intermediate AMD, without major health issues, and have stable internet access.
  • Research aims to see if exercise improves vision, physical, and mental health.

Inclusion Criteria: Veterans aged 65-89 with intermediate AMD, good cognitive function (MoCA score > 26), no major health issues, and stable internet access.

Exclusion Criteria: Non-AMD vision impairments, major psychiatric disorders, and cardiovascular diseases.
