This study tests a treatment called Clascoterone for male pattern hair loss, a common condition where men lose hair in specific areas like the temples and top of the head. The study compares Clascoterone to a placebo, a solution with no active drug, to see if it helps hair grow back and is safe to use. The study has two parts, each lasting 6 months. In Part 1, participants apply Clascoterone or placebo twice daily, and neither they nor the doctor know which one they are using. If Part 1 goes well, they continue to Part 2 where only the doctor knows the treatment. Participants visit the clinic eight times and have two phone calls over 14 months. They will have tests like physical exams, heart checks (electrocardiograms), and photos taken of their scalp to track progress.
- Duration: 14 months total, with 12 months of treatment.
- Participants must be male, 18 or older, with mild to moderate hair loss.
- Participants cannot have scalp conditions or use certain medications.
