Phase 1

This study is looking at how a new medicine, TV-44749, compares to olanzapine, a medicine people with schizophrenia often take. **Schizophrenia** is a mental health condition that can make it hard to tell what's real. TV-44749 will be given as a shot under the skin, while olanzapine is taken by mouth in a pill form. The study will last about 21 weeks, which is a little over 5 months. During this time, researchers will check if TV-44749 is as safe and useful as olanzapine.

**Key Points:**

  • Study lasts about 21 weeks.
  • Participants need to have a stable dose of olanzapine before joining.
  • Participants should not plan to change smoking habits during the trial.

To join, you must have schizophrenia, be stable on your current olanzapine dose, and meet other health criteria. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant cannot join. Some health conditions, like diabetes and certain heart issues, may also prevent joining. If interested, please talk to the study team for more details.
