Pimecrolimus 0.3% Ophthalmic Ointment is being studied to see if it helps people with blepharitis, an eye condition that causes eyelid swelling and debris. The ointment is applied twice daily for 6 weeks. The goal is to clear eyelid debris by the end of the study.
To join, you must be at least 2 years old and diagnosed with blepharitis. If under 18, you need to be examined without anesthesia. Participants must have had at least one blepharitis episode and not responded well to previous lid cleaning. For those under 16, parents must give consent. If you are a woman who can have children, you must take a pregnancy test and use birth control during the study.
Some people cannot join. These include those recently vaccinated for COVID-19, those with certain eye conditions like herpetic or neurotrophic keratitis, or anyone who has used other blepharitis treatments in the past 30 days.
