This study explores a new way to help people with diabetic gastroparesis, a condition where the stomach takes too long to empty its contents, causing nausea and pain. The new treatment, called Thoracic Spinal Nerve Magnetic Neuromodulation Therapy (ThorS-MagNT), uses magnets to improve nerve function and reduce symptoms. The study will compare this therapy to a fake treatment (sham) to see which works better.
- The study will last over 3 years and involve 48 participants, divided into three groups: sham, 1 Hz, and 10 Hz ThorS-MagNT.
- Participants will be recruited from Augusta University and must have experienced symptoms for more than 6 months.
- Primary goal is to achieve a 30% improvement in symptoms, with a secondary goal of better quality of life.
Participants will be monitored for changes in their symptoms and quality of life. The study aims to find out if this new therapy can safely and effectively help people with this condition, which might lead to more advanced studies in the future.
