ENGAGE is a clinical trial testing a medicine called solriamfetol to help adults with Binge Eating Disorder (BED). BED is when someone eats a lot of food quickly and feels out of control. This study is randomized (participants are put into groups by chance), double-blind (neither the participants nor the researchers know who is getting the medicine), and placebo-controlled (some get the medicine, others get a placebo, which has no medicine). The study will last for 12 weeks.
To join, you must have BED based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) and be between 18-55 years old. You cannot join if you have already tried solriamfetol or cannot follow the study rules.
- The study lasts 12 weeks and involves taking a pill every day.
- Participants are randomly assigned to either the medicine or placebo group.
- You must be able to follow the study procedures and provide consent.
