This study is about a course called Caregiving while Black - LIVE. The course is for Black people who take care of family or friends with dementia, a disease that affects memory and thinking. The goal is to help these caregivers handle their responsibilities better, especially since they face challenges like less access to healthcare services and higher costs. The course is self-paced and lasts for 8 weeks.

Key Points:

  • Duration: The course takes 8 weeks to complete.
  • Eligibility: Must be a Black American caregiver, 18 or older, with internet access.
  • Exclusions: Can't participate if under 18, planning to stop caregiving soon, or moving the person to a care facility in 6 months.

The study will collect data from four groups of 10 caregivers each. Participants will learn how to navigate the healthcare system better, considering their unique cultural experiences. This educational course aims to improve knowledge and reduce the health differences faced by Black caregivers and their loved ones with dementia.
