This study looks at schizophrenia, a brain disorder that can make it hard to think clearly or feel motivated. Researchers want to see if lowering inflammation (body's response to injury or illness) helps with motivation problems. Participants will get either infliximab (an anti-inflammatory drug) or a placebo (a harmless substance).
The study involves 9 visits. The first visit checks your health and symptoms. The second visit includes a brain scan (MRI) and a heart test (EKG). During the third visit, you'll play a computer game while having a different brain scan (fMRI). The fourth visit is when you receive infliximab or placebo. Later visits check your health and symptoms.
To join, you must be 18-45 years old and have schizophrenia. You can't join if you have certain health problems or drug issues.
- 9 visits in total, including brain scans and health checks.
- Participation requires a commitment over several weeks.
- Eligibility requires good health and no recent substance use.
