Go Sun Smart Georgia Evaluation is a study to see if a sun safety program helps outdoor workers in Georgia protect themselves better from the sun. The study compares two groups: one gets the program first, and the other waits. Workers will be trained by their own workplace coaches and will take surveys and join interviews.

Go Sun Smart Georgia (GSSG) is based on a program that successfully taught sun safety to workers before. It will be adapted to fit the needs of mostly African American and Hispanic outdoor workers in Southwest Georgia. The program will be tested in 2024 to see how well it works.

  • The study runs from May to December 2024.
  • Participants are outdoor workers and managers who speak English.
  • Training and technical help are part of the program.

Eligible participants must work outdoors for at least 5 hours a week, be involved in safety, and speak English. This study excludes children, pregnant women, prisoners, and those who can't make their own decisions.
