Study on Walking Function for People with Diabetes
This study is looking at how people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) walk. DPN is a common problem for those with diabetes, causing foot problems and sometimes leading to serious issues like ulcers or amputations. The study wants to see if giving feedback on walking style helps. It tests if special walking training can safely improve walking for those with DPN.
- **Time Commitment**: Healthy participants attend 3 sessions; DPN participants attend 7 sessions, each lasting 2-3 hours.
- **Eligibility**: Must be 45+ years, able to walk 10 meters without help, and have a doctor's approval.
- **Risks**: Participants must not have recent serious leg injuries or certain medical conditions.
Participants will walk on a treadmill and receive feedback to improve their walking. The study aims to find safe ways to help people with DPN walk better, reducing risks like foot ulcers. This research might help create better walking programs for people with DPN in the future.
