Fabry disease is a condition causing pain in nerves and the belly. This study checks how a medicine called venglustat helps with this pain. It involves people aged 16 and up who haven't been treated for at least six months. The study lasts 12 months, with visits every 3 months. After this, participants can continue in an open-label extension (everyone knows they're getting venglustat) for up to 31 months.
The study is double-blind, meaning neither the doctors nor the participants know who is getting the real medicine or a placebo (a sugar pill). To join, you need to have a diagnosis of Fabry disease, be at least 16 years old, and not have been treated recently. You'll need to provide consent and, if you're female, can't be pregnant or breastfeeding.
- The total study time can be up to 31 months.
- Participants will visit the study center every 3 months.
- Participants may receive compensation for their time and travel.
If you have certain health conditions like heart problems or infections, you might not qualify. Always talk to your doctor before joining any study.
