Anifrolumab Study is testing a new medicine for adults with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a disease that makes your immune system attack your own body. The study checks if the medicine, called anifrolumab, is safe and works well. Anifrolumab is given under the skin using a special syringe.
The study is Phase 3, which means it's close to being approved if successful. Participants will be split into two groups: one gets the medicine, and the other gets a placebo (a fake treatment). The medicine is given weekly for 52 weeks. After that, everyone can get the real medicine for another year if they choose.
To join, you must be between 18 and 70 years old, have SLE, and be on stable treatments like glucocorticoids (steroids), antimalarials, or immunosuppressants. You can’t join if you have severe mental or kidney issues related to SLE or other serious health conditions.
- The study lasts for up to 104 weeks (2 years).
- Regular clinic visits are required for monitoring.
- Participants will not receive compensation.
