This study explores how a Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system can help heal diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) in people with type 2 diabetes after leaving the hospital. A CGM is a device that continuously checks blood sugar levels without needing finger pricks, which can be painful. In this study, we compare CGM with traditional testing to see which method helps wounds heal better over 16 weeks. Adults with type 2 diabetes and specific health conditions like high HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar over time) will participate.
- Study Length: 16 weeks
- Visits: Scheduled at 4, 8, 12, and 16 weeks
- No Additional Treatment: Standard diabetes education is provided
Participants will be randomly assigned to either use CGM or traditional testing. Those using CGM will learn how to use the device and will receive sensors during visits. Others will use a hidden CGM that only tracks data for researchers. At the end of the study, doctors will assess how well the foot ulcers have healed, and participants will fill out surveys about their experiences.
