Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is a condition where the blood vessels in the legs are narrowed, causing pain during walking, called claudication. Many veterans have PAD, and it can lead to serious problems like amputation. Exercise can help, but attending supervised exercise programs is difficult for veterans due to travel, cost, and now COVID-19 concerns. This study is exploring a new way to help veterans with PAD exercise at home using Mobile Health (mHealth). mHealth involves using technology like smartphones and wearable devices to track exercise and receive coaching remotely. The study will partner with a VA program called MOVE! to make the exercise plan more convenient and accessible through a new program called Smart MOVE! It aims to help veterans exercise safely at home and improve their health.

  • Study duration: 12 weeks
  • Participants must be veterans over 40 with PAD
  • Home-based exercise, no need to travel
