Phase N/A
Exercise in Patients Undergoing Urologic Surgery Study is for patients having surgery with a hospital stay after. Participants will either begin a fitness plan or a nutrition plan when surgery is scheduled. **Key Points:**
  • **Duration & Visits:** You'll track your activity for 2 days, then follow a plan until surgery. No extra visits needed.
  • **Plans:** If in the fitness group, aim for 10,000 steps daily and strength train 3 times a week. If in the nutrition group, drink a supplement like Ensure or Boost twice daily five days before and after surgery.
  • **Compensation & Risks:** No specific compensation mentioned; goal is to improve health to reduce surgery risks.
**Why This Matters:** Being active and eating well improves health and can make surgery safer. Many adults don’t get enough exercise or eat well, which can lead to problems, especially in older adults. This study aims to see if being active or eating better helps you recover and stay healthy after surgery. To join, you must give a blood sample, answer questions, and agree to participate fully.
