BHV-7000 Acute Treatment of Bipolar Mania is a study to test if BHV-7000 is safe and works well for treating mania in people with bipolar disorder I. Bipolar disorder I is a mental health condition with extreme mood swings, including manic episodes, where someone feels very excited, energetic, or irritable. This study is for adults aged 18 to 75 who are currently hospitalized for a manic episode. Participants must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18 and 35, which is a measure of body fat based on weight and height. They must also meet criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5) for bipolar disorder I. People with rapid cycling, which means having many mood episodes in a year, or certain other mental health disorders cannot join. Participants will need to stop taking other mental health medications during the study.
