This medical study is for adults with a serious infection in their blood called Staphylococcus aureus (SA) bacteremia. Bacteremia means bacteria in the blood. The study is testing a new treatment called AP-SA02, given through the vein (intravenous). It will be combined with the best available antibiotic therapy (BAT) to see if it works better than just using the antibiotics alone.
The study has two parts. The first part checks if the new treatment is safe and if people can handle it well. The second part checks how well the treatment works along with its safety.
- Participants need to be in the hospital and at least 18 years old.
- The study involves multiple doses given through an IV.
- Participants cannot have other infections besides SA, heart infection, or brain problems.
Those who join the study should not be pregnant and must use contraception if they can have children. If you are allergic to phage products or have other infections, you cannot join this study.
