Phase N/A

This study is about checking a new way to find a liver problem in kids using a special tool called Velacur ultrasound. It looks for fat and scarring in the liver without needing a painful test called a biopsy. NAFLD, now called MASLD, is a liver disease linked to being overweight. It's becoming common in kids and can lead to serious health issues. The usual tests like MRI and biopsies are accurate but can be costly and uncomfortable. Velacur might be a better option because it's quick, easy, and works well even if someone is overweight. This study will see if Velacur works as well as the other tests by using it on kids in Atlanta. If you're between 2-20 years old and might have MASLD, you can join. You need permission from your parents and can't join if you're pregnant or have certain medical devices. This study might involve giving a blood sample too.

  • Duration: The study will be conducted in an outpatient setting.
  • Participation: Involves Velacur exams and possible blood biomarker collection.
  • Eligibility: Ages 2-20, must not be pregnant or have certain implants.
