Phase N/A

Study Overview: This study looks at how transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) affects reading and language skills. TMS is a technique that uses magnetic fields to change how brain areas work for a short time. Researchers want to find out how long TMS affects reading and when it works best. They will test different TMS types and compare them to a fake (sham) treatment to see how they change reading and language skills.

Participation Details:

  • Participants will have reading, language, and thinking tests.
  • They will receive a brain scan called an MRI and TMS.
  • They will also do reading, language, and movement tasks.

Eligibility: To join, you must be 18-30 years old, right-handed, and have average reading skills. You should speak English as your first language and not have any learning disabilities, serious emotional problems, or certain health conditions like metal in your body.

Key Points to Consider:

  • The study requires multiple visits for testing and treatments.
  • It is important to be comfortable with MRI and TMS procedures.
  • Participation does not involve any specific compensation details mentioned.

Learn more about clinical trials

What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a study designed to test specific interventions or treatments' effectiveness and safety, paving the way for new, innovative healthcare solutions.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?

Clinical trials follow strict ethical guidelines and protocols to safeguard participants' health. They are closely monitored and safety reviewed regularly.
