The study focuses on kids with lupus nephritis, a kidney problem caused by lupus, an illness where the immune system attacks the body. It's a 1-year study with two parts, testing a medicine called Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF). MMF is given either by body size (MMFBSA) or by adjusting the dose based on how the body processes the medicine (MMFPK). Lupus Nephritis (LN) is a serious kidney disease that can happen in children with lupus. The study tests which dosing method is safer and works better for kids aged 8 to under 18. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups for 53 weeks. If the kidney condition doesn't fully improve by week 26, they might switch dosing methods. Children who don't respond well will stop the study treatment but will be monitored. Eligible participants need to meet certain health criteria and have their parents' permission.
- The study lasts for about a year with frequent visits and tests.
- Participants will be monitored closely, and any non-responders will receive necessary treatments outside the study.
- It is essential to follow all study instructions and visit schedules.
