Phase 2

This clinical trial is for adults who have depression that hasn't improved with standard treatments. The study will look at how omega-3 fatty acids (a type of healthy fat found in fish) might help reduce inflammation (swelling) in the body and improve depression symptoms. Participants will be randomly assigned to take either omega-3 supplements or a placebo (a pill with no active ingredients) for 12 weeks. Blood tests and questionnaires will be used to track changes in inflammation and depression symptoms.

  • Duration: 12-week study.
  • Requirements: Regular blood tests and surveys.
  • Eligibility: Ages 18-65, currently on antidepressants.

Remember, omega-3 is being tested to see if it can help when usual depression treatments haven't worked. Participants must have tried at least two antidepressants without success and meet other health criteria. This study involves no cost to you, and your participation could contribute to important research on depression treatments. Always discuss with your doctor before joining a study.
