Phase N/A

This study looks at how cottonseed oil (CSO) affects heart health compared to other oils. It involves three diet groups: CSO, a similar oil with polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), and a control group with a mix of oils. Participants will drink a special shake every day for 28 days. They will visit the clinic six times: once for screening, once before starting, three short weekly visits, and one final visit. During visits, participants will have blood tests and body measurements taken. This study is for adults aged 25-75 at risk for heart disease due to high cholesterol or being overweight.

  • Study lasts 28 days with 6 clinic visits.
  • Participants drink a special shake daily.
  • Must be at risk for heart disease (high cholesterol or overweight).
