Phase 2

Study Overview: This study looks at how an antioxidant supplement might help blood vessels stay healthy. Antioxidants are substances that may stop or slow damage to cells. The research focuses on understanding if mitochondria, which are parts of cells that produce energy, are causing problems for blood vessels in healthy non-Hispanic Black (NHB) adults due to oxidative stress (an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants in your body). This is important because it might lead to high blood pressure and heart disease.

Eligibility: To join, you should be 18-75 years old, not have high blood pressure, and have low cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Certain skin conditions, smoking, drug use, or certain medications will not allow participation.

  • The study involves taking an antioxidant supplement and monitoring its effects on blood vessels.
  • Participants must attend regular check-ups over a set period, ensuring commitment is possible.
  • Volunteers may receive compensation for their time and effort.
