Phase N/A

Researchers are studying how different amounts of exercise can help people with moderate Parkinson's Disease (PD). PD is a brain disorder that affects movement. In this study, participants will do two types of aerobic exercise (AE). Aerobic exercise means activities like walking or dancing that make your heart beat faster. One group will do a lot of exercise one week each month (high volume - HV), while another group will exercise regularly every week (moderate volume - MV). They want to see if exercising more in one week is better than spreading it out over many weeks.

Participants will be older than 40, have certain symptoms of PD, and be able to walk. They must also be willing to join one of the exercise groups for a year. Researchers will measure how fast participants walk, look at their physical activity, and check their blood for special markers. They will also see how exercise affects the heart and blood vessels.

  • Study lasts for 52 weeks with different exercise schedules.
  • Participants will be checked for walking speed and physical activity.
  • Participants should be diagnosed with moderate Parkinson's Disease.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
