Phase 2

This study looks at how well a new treatment called VS-01 works for people with a liver problem called Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure (ACLF) and a condition where fluid builds up in the belly known as ascites. ACLF happens when someone with liver cirrhosis (a severe liver disease) suddenly gets worse, affecting other organs too. The treatment is given using a method called intraperitoneal, meaning it's delivered directly into the belly area using a special formula called liposomal, which helps the medicine work better and last longer.

  • The study involves multiple visits to the hospital over a set period.
  • Participants must have ACLF and ascites but cannot have very severe organ failures.
  • Participants are required to give informed consent and meet specific health criteria.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.
