REACT is a study to test if a special treatment called microbiota therapy (MT) can help reduce harmful germs that don't respond to usual medicines, known as multi-drug resistant organisms (MDRO). This study is for patients in long-term care facilities. MT uses healthy donor bacteria to replace bad bacteria in the intestines.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, have a specific MDRO, and can’t take certain antibiotics or probiotics during the study. They will receive the therapy through an enema or feeding tube, or just be observed, with follow-up checks on Days 7, 14, 21, and 28. The study lasts 6 months, with data collection on safety and any changes in health.
